Rork raised $15M

Our team has been building mobile apps for the App Store since we were kids. Now we're making it possible for everyone else to do the same.

Rork raised a $15M seed round led by Left Lane Capital, with a16z speedrun, Peak XV, True Ventures, Goodwater, and others.

Rork is an AI app builder for mobile. It turns plain-language prompts into real native iOS and Android apps built on Swift, React Native, and Expo, which you can submit straight to the App Store and Google Play.

We told our story in a video on X – in tribute to Howard Roark, the architect Rork is named after.

Our story

My co-founder Levan Kvirkvelia and I each bootstrapped three startups before Rork. Levan built Russia's largest educational timetable and Q&A app at 17 and scaled it to more than two million users. I reached #2 in the App Store across three countries.

We actually started Rork as an AI coding tool for the web. When Lovable launched and quickly dominated that space, we went back to our roots: mobile apps. Mobile is roughly ten times more complex to build for, and it was largely unsolved by AI.

We launched Rork publicly in February 2025 with a single tweet, and usage surged within days. In May 2025, we announced our $2.8M pre-seed led by a16z speedrun.

In September 2025, we launched our mobile app. Today, Rork is:

  • The largest AI platform for building mobile apps in the world by web traffic
  • Top two in the App Store worldwide in the Developer Tools category
  • The number one referring website to RevenueCat

Rork Max

Most recently, we launched Rork Max, powered by Claude Code and Claude Opus 4.6. The announcement got more than 8 million views on X and doubled our annual revenue within two weeks.

Rork Max is the first Swift app builder on the web that can replace Xcode. You can build apps for every Apple platform – iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Vision Pro, and iMessage – in plain English, test them on real devices, and publish to the App Store in two clicks.

Shortly after raising this round, we made our first acquisition: Paperline, a macOS app that builds native Swift apps with AI, founded by senior iOS and full-stack engineers Evgenii Mozharovskii and Maksim Konstantinov. It speeds up our move to native Swift and our goal of building a web platform that replaces Xcode with AI.

As Levan says:

Not a lot of people realize the true power and speed of progress in AI yet. AI models move faster than anyone could imagine, wiping out entire products and industries as we speak. Rork is winning because of our early bet on AI becoming exponentially better at hard problems – and it's already happening with software engineering.

Rork turns consumers into entrepreneurs

People spend more time on their phones than on any other device, and for billions of people it's their primary screen. As Matthew Miller from Left Lane Capital puts it, "Mobile is the most valuable surface area on the planet."

When everyone fears AI replacing their jobs, we believe it will lead to more consumers starting companies. Creating is better than reselling, and the next generation of entrepreneurship will thrive on the App Store.

We're already seeing it with younger builders. George Lampropoulos, an 18-year-old college freshman, built WrestleAI, an AI wrestling coach, with Rork in about a month and scaled it to over $30K in monthly revenue. He solved his own problem, found an empty niche in the App Store, and used influencers for distribution.

As the barriers to building fall, success depends less on technical skill and more on speed, taste, and spotting demand early. Entrepreneurs, designers, marketers, students, and creators can now go from an idea to a live app in hours – without raising money, building a big engineering team, or learning to code.

Thank you

Thank you to Matthew and the team at Left Lane Capital, to a16z speedrun, Peak XV, True Ventures, Goodwater, and all of our investors for believing in us. Thank you to everyone building on Rork, to our team, and to Levan.
