Rork raised $2.8M pre-seed led by a16z speedrun, ChapterOne, Founders, Inc, Hustlefund, Charlie Cheever & Evan Bacon from Expo, React Native contributors Christopher Chedeau (Meta) and Marc Rousavy (Margelo), Austen Allred, Nikita Shamgunov (Neon), Matteo Franceschetti (Eightsleep), Siqi Chen (Runway), Ben Tossel, and other amazing angels and funds.
We are on track to hit 8 figures ARR this year. We're growing very fast as a team of 2 people, mostly through word of mouth and being unknown to tech Twitter.
We've seen 100,000+ founders, marketers, designers prototype & build mobile apps for themselves, for work and for their side projects in Rork.
After talking to some of them, we were fascinated by their stories:
- A founder fundraised for their project built on Rork
- A designer started "the side project of their dreams" staying up late after work
- Users finally solve their own small problems by literally talking to their computer vs waiting for someone to solve them for them. The most fascinating story is a cancer doctor who uses Rork to build a mobile app that makes "quick dosage calculations" and "a plan for cardiopulmonary resuscitation" to be used in their clinic.
- Creators and marketers finally built niche apps for their specific audience. One musician with 80K followers created a mobile app for capoeira students avoiding to pay $50K to devshops for bad software.
- Founders/designers/PMs used us to quickly prototype mobile apps at their jobs
- Agencies & freelancers used us to complete projects faster
- Non-mobile developers use us to quickly port their web app or bot to a mobile app

Rork was built by 2 founders: Levan Kvirkvelia and Daniel Dhawan.
We are polymath technical founders and immigrants from 3rd world countries.
Mobile apps helped us work for ourselves for 90% of our lives. Some of our apps reached 6 figure revenues, #2 App Store, 2M+ users and 30M+ views on TikTok.
It felt like we were always living in the future – we were early users of Cursor, React, Expo, React Native, Supabase, Node/Deno/Bun and TypeScript. We designed everything ourselves in Figma, constantly used all no-code builders like Framer, Webflow, Retool, Airtable to ship landing pages & internal tools. Heck, we built our first website when we were 11yo.

Future of work with Rork
Our vision and hope is that Rork helps the next 100M non-technical people make a living online by solving their own problems. Before AI, there were only 50M software engineers in the world who could ship high quality software. Code is a huge lever of the world – we saw firsthand how it lifted lots of people from literal poverty in our country.
We're excited to give every resourceful person in the world the power to create software and software businesses.
Mobile is a unique piece of hardware capable of everything – consumers spend 80% of their Internet time on mobile. Building mobile apps has been very hard and expensive, but Rork changes that.
In 2025, high energy, agency, creativity, and perseverance are becoming more important than intelligence. What an age to be able to write this sentence.
Why the name Rork?
Rork is named after Howard Roark from The Fountainhead, a novel by Ayn Rand. He is an individualistic contrarian architect who built great skyscrapers with sunlit windows in New York while everyone was building dark classic European buildings because it was "the current cool thing to do".
We believe the future creators of software are software architects like Roark. We believe the future of work will change: computers, Internet, software, will allow millions of people to live a good life while enjoying their work. And coding will power that.
